Cem has a proven track record of managing complex transit projects internationally with expertise in safety-critical train control and rolling stock systems, specializing in transportation reliability, availability, maintainability, safety (RAMS) practices, and software and hardware development. He has provided leadership and a consultative influence in the design, planning, testing, commissioning, and validation of rail projects, demonstrating a solid grounding in both commercial and technical aspects of projects around the world, including TransLink (Vancouver, Canada), Transport for London (London, UK), and Edmonton Transit Service (Edmonton, Canada) and Singapore Mass Rapid Transit. Working on both the owner and delivery side has enabled Cem to accumulate a range of industry best practices that help Cem to allow complex projects to succeed. Cem has a proven track record of leading and rectifying high-profile projects in a highly complex and multithreaded environment.

Senior Systems Project Manager

Tamding is an experienced rail systems engineer and project manager with a strong background in railway signalling, train control systems, rolling stock maintenance and major railway project upgrades. Tamding has worked on major rail modernization and signalling programs, including projects for metro systems (London Underground in the UK, TransLink in Canada, Doha metro in Qatar and Singapore metro) and urban rail networks (Network Rail in the UK). His experience spans Automatic Train Control (ATC), Communication-based Train Control (CBTC), system integration and data-driven reliability engineering. He has supported projects through the full lifecycle from requirement definition, planning, testing, commissioning and revenue readiness. Tamding has collaborated with rail operators, contractors and the engineering team to deliver technically and operationally efficient solutions. His work often involves coordinating multidisciplinary stakeholders, managing technical interfaces and ensuring that safety, reliability and performance standards are met.

Systems Safety Lead

Birsen is a CSEP and PMI certified systems safety expert with over 25 years of experience in the railway, defense and aerospace industries. She has strong knowledge of the systems and safety assurance practices and is currently working on applying these in high profile capital projects in Canada. Birsen has significant experience in working on large scale projects from the concept phase until the end of the commissioning phase. Birsen is responsible for providing systems safety leadership on rail extension, signalling upgrade, facilities and yard upgrade projects in Vancouver by representing the operating company BCRTC. Outside of rail, Birsen has worked in chief engineering roles for high profile defense and aerospace projects. Birsen played a significant role in the widespread adoption of systems engineering within Türkiye.

Josh has been working within the engineering field since 2017, with a background in engineering across the land, sea, and air sectors. Josh has been working at the forefront of engineering, with the projects he has worked on focusing on developing complex systems and mechanical designs with optimal functionality, whilst ensuring that key engineering principles like Design for Manufacture (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), RAMS, and cost effectiveness are considered and incorporated. Since 2022, Josh has been working within a lead systems role, guiding the working practices of others and checking documentation and drawings to ensure quality and alignment with project goals. Since coming to Canada, Josh has worked within the rail industry, acting within the role of Owner’s Engineer for both Systems & Safety specialties, for key Vancouver-based entities such as TransLink & BCRTC.

Bryn is a systems design and project delivery specialist with over six years of experience in urban railway systems, providing expertise in signalling, safety-critical systems, and multidisciplinary systems engineering. Bryn has served as a Signalling Design Lead for major transit infrastructure projects, with roles spanning systems and signalling design, as well as a Work Package Manager responsible for project management tasks. His background includes leading system integration activities and supporting the design and deployment of automated train control software for the Broadway Subway Project and the Surrey-Langley SkyTrain Extension. Bryn specializes in urban rail train operations and the design of greenfield and brownfield Grade of Automation 4 systems, with a particular focus on wayside and central signalling guideway elements for moving block systems.

Suhrita Biswas is a certified Project Manager (PMP, PMI-RMP, PMI-PMOCP, ENV SP) with over 10 years of experience across project management, controls and coordination in infrastructure, utilities, and environmental projects across Canada and Middle East. Her experience spans full project lifecycle including project scope, schedule development and control, cost management, risk management, procurement support and performance reporting on multiple projects. Her background includes developing integrated project plans, managing contractor and consultant performance, and bringing structured and collaborative approach in delivering projects efficiently and safely.
Thupten Thinley

Systems Specialist

Thupten Thinley is a Systems Specialist experienced in managing and reviewing all systems and signalling plans, drawings, manuals, and plans to ensure they meet the needs of the end user. Thupten is also responsible for coordinating on-site installation and ensuring that the systems and signalling assets are installed as per specification in various equipment rooms across the SkyTrain network, and is responsible for weekly deployment meetings to ensure smooth coordination with the key stakeholders to meet the installation requirements of operators and maintainers. Thupten has hands-on experience with PLCs and instrumentation (Omron, Allen-Bradley PLCs), AutoCAD Electrical, and power system design.
Bernadine Mkwidza

Bernadine Mkwidza

Project Manager

Bernadine is a project manager with experience across railway systems, safety assurance, and infrastructure delivery in both the UK and Canada. Currently leading various state of good repair projects in Canada, she ensures delivery to scope, schedule, and budget while managing stakeholder alignment and supplier coordination. She led the development of the System Configuration Management Plan, establishing a structured process for the end user to communicate configuration changes to their supplier – enhancing flexibility, traceability, and governance. Bernadine also oversees the integration of cybersecurity functionality into the ATS system, coordinating multidisciplinary teams through testing, change management, and operational acceptance. Her background in safety and systems integration enables her to balance technical complexity with operational practicality, consistently driving outcomes that meet safety, performance, and commercial objectives.
